FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car accident in Florence County.
The accident occurred just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning on Davis Street near a corner store close to Lake City.
According to the SCHP, Samuel Wilson Jr. was turning into a corner store in a 2003 Dodge pickup truck when 20-year-old Terrence Hannah, operating a dirt bike, struck his passenger side door.
Hannah, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken in a private vehicle to Lake City Community Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the accident around 5:10 that morning.
It was also reported that the dirt bike did not have street required equipment, including head lights.
