CONWAY, SC (WMBF) -The investigation to find out whose remains were found in Conway on Sept. 29 is one stop closer.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said investigators have confirmed the remains belonged to an adult white man.
Horry County Sgt. Robert Kegler said officers began investigating Sept. 29 after someone reported finding bones in the woods behind the Veterans Affairs and Horry County Parks and Recreation Building on Oak Street Extension.
Detectives met Oct. 1 with an anthropologist with the Medical University of South Carolina, who confirmed the remains are human. The bones were sent to MUSC for further testing.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
