RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man killed in a wreck hours before his wedding was remembered by friends as warm and sincere.

Guests who arrived for the wedding of Christopher Raynor and Karen Taylor of Raleigh on Saturday were shocked to learn it would be a memorial service for Raynor after he was killed in a wreck four hours earlier, The News & Observer reported.

Raynor was with two groomsmen when their car collided with another vehicle that ran a red light. The 27-year-old was thrown from the back seat and hit by a third car. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Police charged 52-year-old James Howard Early of Asheville with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Taylor later spoke about her fiance's strength as groomsmen who survived the accident watched nearby. The couple would have begun their honeymoon cruise Monday.
