MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Members of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce made a stop in Myrtle Beach Tuesday for a grassroots meeting with area leaders.
The chamber is traveling the state in hopes of learning about the issues that impact individual towns. Members met with Grand Strand Chamber of Commerce leaders to discuss road improvement, educational and economical concerns in hopes of pushing forward the needs of the area in Columbia.
"The real issue we're hearing now more than anything is ‘We need jobs,'" said Otis Rawl of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce."
Rawl says the state needs to create wealth for its citizens and find a way for the South Carolina General Assembly to start coming up with ways for business to grow within the Palmetto State.
The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce will continue its efforts inland, making a stop with Florence leaders on Friday at 9 a.m.
