CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police are still looking for a very expensive car that was stolen from a Carolina Panther's football player.

Thomas Davis lives in the Providence Plantation on Grimmersborough Lane.   His "souped-up" 1975 Caprice Classic was parked in front of the home.

Davis told the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) that someone stole the car on Saturday between 1:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

The purple car is described as a two-door convertible model with a tag of HA73SN.   The vehicle is worth $136,000.

It features many custom details including a special steering wheel with a football, and a painting of Davis at a desk with a Panther sprawled in front of it.

If you know anything about this crime, call CMPD Detective L. Rango at 704-336-4466 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
