HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - It's been nearly a month since the new owners of the former Hard Rock Park re-opened for business as Freestyle Music Park, but is the Horry County attraction making a triumphant return to the amusement park industry?
Freestyle marketing director John Stein simply sums up business as "growing."
Whether it's growing slowly or quickly, Stein says he is excited about what's around the corner for the park - the summer tourist season.
Stein says FPI Entertainment LLC, the group of investors who acquired the park earlier this year, is pleased with where business sits. The park did see a dip in business after Memorial Day Weekend, but Stein attributes that dip to families "getting back to work and school."
However, is a mediocre number of guests currently filing through his theme park's gates enough to survive longer than the former Hard Rock Park? It all boils down to a test of time.
"I'm not unhappy," commented Stein. "Everyone wants more business. That's a fact."
The upcoming months until the park's season closing date of September 20 could prove crucial to the health and well-being of the once failed attraction under the name of Hard Rock Park.
Despite speculation, Stein notes Freestyle Music Park's guest traffic is growing daily and is creating optimism among investors and employees, alike.
