23-year-old arrested, charged after deputies say fight turned to fatal shooting in Shannon
According to a Facebook post from Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, Robeson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a possible murder off Truck Lane in the Shannon area of Robeson County around 8:50 a.m.

LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) - Deputies have arrested a suspect, charging the man in connection to a Saturday morning homicide in Robeson County.

According to a Facebook post from Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, Robeson County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested 23-year-old Kendrick Barlie Worriax in connection to the incident.

Deputies say they were called to the scene of a possible murder off Truck Lane in the Shannon area of Robeson County around 8:50 a.m, where they found 48-year-old Devin Ray Locklear dead in the front seat of his car.

Deputies say the shooting was the result of a dispute between Locklear and Worriax that had occurred prior to the shooting.

Worriax is charged with first degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle. Worriax is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without a bond.
