DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) – Darlington County deputies arrested a man Friday afternoon who they said is accused of sex crimes dating back to July 2012.
Special Victims Unit Investigators and deputies served a search warrant at 51-year-old Raymond Warren’s home on Auburn School Road.
Investigators searched the home for evidence and arrested Warren a short time later.
Warren is charged with 10 counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 and 12 counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor between 11 and 14.
Investigators accuse Warren of engaging in sexual battery with a juvenile from 2012 to 2016.
“Protecting children is near and dear to my heart and is our part of our main goal,” stated Sheriff Tony Chavis. “This is why I started the Special Victims Unit; to tackle these difficult investigations and protect our most vulnerable.”
Warren is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and is expected to appear on Saturday before a Darlington County Magistrate.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected to be filed in neighboring jurisdictions.
