Community’s help, hard work leads to arrest in SC homicide, sheriff says

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) – Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis announced his deputies arrested a man in connection to a homicide Monday night.

Investigators served a search warrant around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Mimosa Drive. During the search warrant, investigators took Terrele Rashon Bailey, 24, into custody.

Davis is charged with murder in the shooting death of Renardo Jamal Davis.

“Due to the community coming forward with information and the hard work of my investigators, we were able to make an arrested,” Chavis said. “Our investigation continues, and we encourage anyone with any additional information to come forward.”

Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.

Bailey is in custody at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. He is expected to appear before a Darlington County Magistrate on Thursday.
