CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The Horry County Planning Commission discussed plans for major changes to the Myrtle Beach Mall at its workshop Thursday.
The Myrtle Beach Mall sits along the Highway 17 Bypass by the Bass Pro Shop, just south of North Myrtle Beach.
The plans for changes would include new restaurants and shops. They would also include excavating the bank of the Intracoastal Waterway to have waterfront businesses.

No vote was taken, but the plan is to have the rezoning request on the agenda for next week’s planning commission meeting.
If the plans don’t get deferred before next Thursday’s planning commission meeting, the planning commission will vote to either send a favorable or non-favorable recommendation for the plans to Horry County Council.
The public will also have the chance to speak about the plans on Thursday.
