Fire departments are asking for donations after Georgetown County firefighter loses everything in home fire

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Firefighters from multiple departments are rallying around one of their own after her home was destroyed in a fire.

Annie Bowers has been a firefighter with Georgetown County Fire for 20 years lives in the Sandpit area.

We’re told everyone was able to get out of the home safely during the fire, including her two teenage daughters.

On Friday, Midway Fire Rescue along with Georgetown County Fire asked for the public’s help in collecting toiletries gift cards and clothing for the family.

The agencies listed the following items as things that are needed:

  • Towels
  • Wash cloths
  • Body wash
  • Blankets pillows
  • Toothpaste
  • Tooth brushes
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Lotion
  • Hand soap
  • Hand sanitizer 
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels 
  • Feminine products
  • Socks
  • Giftcards: Midway Fire said they had some inquiry about giftcards or money and would like anyone willing to give monitory donations do it via gift card. Any grocery store, Walmart or Big Box store is welcomed.

Clothing Sizes for Family:

  • Hayden is 16-year-old and wears a large in shirts, a 13 in pants and a 8 in shoes.
  • Stephanie is 17-years-old and wears a large/XL in shirts, a 16 in pants and a 5 1/2 in shoes.
  • Annie wears a medium in shirts, a 14 in pants and a size 6 in shoes.
  • Marty wears a in 2XL in shirts, a 42 x 34 in pants and a 11 W in shoes.
