Georgetown police officer out of department after domestic violence arrest

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A Georgetown police officer is no longer with the department after he was arrested on domestic violence charges, according to the Georgetown police captain.

Capt. Nelson Brown confirmed the information to WMBF News on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release from GCSO, 26-year-old Brandon Rowell has been charged with second degree domestic violence stemming from a physical altercation with a woman resulting in visible injuries.

GCSO said Rowell and the victim live together and also have a child together.

Rowell has been booked at the Georgetown County Detention Center and is being held pending a bond hearing Wednesday.
