MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Brace yourselves. Winter is here this morning, with temperatures staying bitterly cold through the next 24 hours.
We start off Monday with temperatures in the middle 20s, but the wind chill turns even lower as it feels-like between 10°- 15° through the first few hours of daylight! Despite sunny skies, temperatures will be very slow to climb through the day. Afternoon highs hold in the middle 30s with a wind chill in the 20s through this evening.
After another chilly start in the 30s tomorrow morning, slightly warmer air returns Tuesday but our afternoon highs hold in the 40s. The winds on Tuesday will be much calmer so wind chill won’t be a factor. We’ll have to wait until mid-week for a more significant warming trend as we return to the 60s both Wednesday and Thursday.
Our next cold front arrives Thursday and brings a round of rain, some heavy, early in the day. As this cold front exits, colder weather will return to the Carolinas. Temperatures by the weekend will struggle to climb out of the 40s.
