MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Another cold and frosty start to the day will give way to milder temperatures this afternoon.
Temperatures early Thursday are once again in the lower 30s with a heavy frost in most areas. After sunrise, temperatures will begin to warm considerably. Afternoon highs will reach the middle 50s. Skies will be sunny through most of today, but clouds will begin to thicken by this afternoon and evening.
A weak storm system will bring cloudy skies and stray shower or two overnight, but all the light showers will be well off shore by daybreak Friday. It will be much milder tonight with temperatures dropping into the middle 40s.
Warmer weather returns Friday and Saturday with sunnier skies returning. Afternoon highs climb well into the 60s each day! Mornings remain mild and well-above freezing.
A powerful cold front is still set to arrive on Sunday. Ahead of the front, the weather will be mild and wet with temperatures starting off in the 60s but quickly falling through the afternoon as the rain clears.
Temperatures Monday morning drop into the lower and middle 20s, feeling like the teens when you factor in the wind. We’ll remain cold from start to finish as we only climb into the middle 30s Monday afternoon. Wind chills will likely remain in the 20s most of the day.
