MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Milder temperatures filter in the next few days before a BIG drop arrives!
Lingering clouds are around in some spots early Wednesday with temperatures near 40 at the beach and lower to middle 30s inland. By the afternoon, skies turn mostly sunny as temperatures climb into the lower and middle 50s.
More of the same is on tap Thursday with temperatures returning to the 50s. A weak storm system will cause clouds to thicken up late Thursday and bring in a chance of a few brief showers Thursday night.
Temperatures on Friday make return to the lower 60s, climbing into the middle 60s by Saturday! The clouds do begin to filter in, turning mostly cloudy through Saturday afternoon as a powerful cold front moves closer.
That cold front arrives on Sunday and will bring a dramatic end to the warm weather. Expect showers and downpours to start Sunday morning. The rain will begin to clear through the afternoon as the temperatures begin to fall sharply. We’ll start Sunday in the 60s but watch temperatures turn colder by the afternoon.
The core of the cold arrives early next week, focused on Monday and Tuesday. We start Monday morning in the 20s, with a wind chill in the teens! Despite clearing skies, temperatures only climb into the middle 30s Monday afternoon.
