President Trump announces Clemson’s White House visit to celebrate national title

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Just days after South Carolina celebrates Clemson’s national title win, the Tigers will travel to the nation’s capital for a celebration at the White House.

In a tweet Friday night, President Donald Trump announced he will host Clemson’s football team on Monday, Jan. 14.

“What a game, what a coach, what a team!” Trump tweeted.

On Monday, the Tigers trounced the Alabama Crimson Tide 44-16 to win their third national title.

The team will be honored in South Carolina on Saturday with a parade in Clemson that will start at 9 a.m. at the intersection of College Avenue and Keith Street. It will end at Memorial Stadium, where a celebration will kick off at 10:30 a.m.
