MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Police arrested an intoxicated man wanted out of North Carolina on Thursday after he walked into the back of a police cruiser, according to a Myrtle Beach Police Department incident report.
James Nicholas Sutphin, 37, was charged with public intoxication. Police say they learned Sutphin was wanted out of North Carolina for felony probation violation after running his name. Dispatch advised police the sentence for the charge carries a minimum of at least one year in jail, the report states.
Sutphin was transported to the Myrle Beach Jail. According to the report, police will apply for a fugitive warrant.
