OCSO searching for suspect who stole moped from 83-year-old

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of an armed robbery suspect who is connected to the robbery of a senior citizen at gunpoint.

Around 10 a.m. December 29th, the 83-year-old victim was traveling on the 500 block of Shadowlawn Drive when he was approached the armed suspect.

The suspect then demanded the victim give him his moped then drove off with it.

The suspect has been described by the victim as a male armed with a handgun. The suspect was also seen exiting a dark colored vehicle, possibly a Honda, driven by a female.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said an artist with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division created a composite drawing of the suspect based on a description given by the victim.

"Probably the most innocent of victims is children and adults who are up in age," he said. "This victim was doing nothing but minding his own business and gets robbed."
