DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - Authorities suspect no foul play was involved after human remains were found in a shed just outside of Darlington Sunday.
According to Lt. Robby Kilgo with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor found the skeletal remains in a detached garage around 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning off N Governor Williams Hwy and Law Plantation Road.
SLED’s Forensics unit has been called in to investigate the findings. Lt. Kilgo says the area where the remains were found is rural but heavily traveled.
It is not known at this time how long the remains were in the garage before the discovery.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday in Newberry.
