Road to Recovery: Advice available at home improvement stores in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - FEMA mitigation specialists will visit home improvement stores in Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet to offer advice on how to repair and rebuild structures to be safer and stronger, according to a press release.

The mitigation specialists will be on hand beginning Thursday, Oct. 4, to answer questions and provide home improvement tips and information on building structures that are more hazard-resistant, with proven methods that can prevent or reduce damage from future disasters.

This information is geared toward do-it-yourself homeowners and general contractors. Recovery topics to be covered include flood insurance, elevating utilities and rebuilding flooded homes.

FEMA advisers will be available at these locations in Horry County on these days and times:
